In a government hospital located in Chitradurga district, Karnataka, medical staff resorted to using the light from mobile phone flashlights to treat patients amidst a power outage. This incident prompted the BJP to launch a scathing attack on the ruling Congress government, dubbing it 'Darkness Bhagya'. Sources indicate that the region has been grappling with power cuts for the past week, and the hospital is not exempt from the predicament.

The BJP's criticism, labeled 'Darkness Bhagya', aimed at the Congress' 'Gruha Jyoti' scheme, offering free electricity up to 200 units to households.

The video footage shared by the BJP showcases doctors attending to patients in the hospital, relying solely on the light emitted by mobile phone flashlights. Even the medical store's operations hinge on patients' mobile phone flashlights for visibility.

The BJP seized the opportunity to deride the Congress government's performance, labelling the situation as 'Darkness Bhagya' and presenting it as another failed 'guarantee' on the anniversary of Siddaramaiah's government.

"One year guarantee 'Darkness Bhagya' It's a gift from the Congress government in Karnataka, which is celebrating the completion of one year in the office! Congress government led by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has reached such a dire situation that even hospitals are not supplied with electricity. Treasury is empty, and there is no electricity! This is a 'Chombu' (round water pot) and 'Chippu' (coconut shell) government!", the BJP said on 'X'.

The party further criticised the Congress-led government for its alleged failure to provide essential services, citing the dire circumstances in hospitals due to the power outage.

Responding to previous jibes from the Congress, which referred to the Central government as a 'Chombu' government, symbolising emptiness, the BJP retaliated by branding the Siddaramaiah regime as a 'Chippu' government, implying ineffectiveness.
