Jammu and Kashmir: BSF jawan injured after Pakistan violates ceasefire in RS Pura Sector

Jammu and Kashmir: At around 8:00 om October 26 unprovoked firing started by Pakistan Rangers on BSF posts in the Arnia area which was befittingly retaliated by BSF troops.

Jammu and Kashmir: Pakistan started unprovoked firing at the International Border in violation of the ceasefire in RS Pura sector today (October 26). A 30-year-old jawan of BSF Basavraj SR got injured during the ceasefire violation. He was safely evacuated and the Karnataka-based soldier was posted at Bikram Post of Arnia.

As per reports, at around 8:00 pm on Thursday unprovoked firing began by Pakistan Rangers on the Border Security Force (BSF) posts in the Arnia area which is befittingly retaliated by the troops. The firing is still underway.

The official said that the Pakistan rangers started firing on a BSF battalion located in RS Pura. "BSF personnel also retaliated against the fire effectively", the official told media. 

Panic grips locals:

Due to shelling by Pakistan, there is an atmosphere of panic and chaos among the people living around RS Pura sector, people are leaving their homes and moving towards safer places.

This is the second ceasefire violation at the International Border in less than 10 days. On October 17, Pak Rangers had resorted to unprovoked firing towards BSF troops, in which two BSF personnel received injuries.

There has been a relative calm on the borders following a renewed ceasefire agreement between India and Pakistan, although there have been infiltration bids which were foiled, while several cases of weapons droppings for terrorists using drones have also been reported.

Kupwara encounter:

Meanwhile, a total of five terrorists have been killed in an encounter that broke out between armed forces and militants in Machil sector, near Line of Control (LoC), Kupwara district on Thursday. 

The Army said in a joint operation launched by the Indian Army, Jammu and Kashmir Police and Intelligence agencies an infiltration bid has been foiled by alert troops along the LoC in Kupwara sector.
