Vijay Rupani will take oath as the new chief minister of Gujarat on December 26 at Vidhansabha Ground in Gandhinagar.

The swearing-in ceremony, scheduled for 11am, will be attended by both Prime Minister Narendra and BJP President Amit Shah. 17 other chief ministers have been invited to attend the swearing-in ceremony of Vijay Rupani.

On Friday, incumbent chief minister Vijay Rupani was elected as the leader of the BJP legislature party in Gujarat.  Incumbent Deputy Chief Minister Nitin Patel was elected as deputy leader in the House.

Along with Rupani, Nitin Patel will also take oath as the Deputy Chief Minister of Gujarat on December 26.

In the just-concluded Assembly elections, the BJP retuened to power for sixth consecutive term by winning 99 out of 182 Assembly seats.

The Congress, despite giving its best performance in last 22 years, could manage to win only 77 seats.
