Gandhinagar: Ahead of ‘Vibrant Gujarat Summit-2015', Canadian High Commissioner Stewert Beck and Ambassador of Switzerland in India Linus Von Castelmur held seperate meetings here today with Gujarat Chief Minister Anandi Patel.


Since Canada is the partner country of the Vibrant Gujarat Summit, Beck held a detailed discussion with the CM to explore different avenues in trade, innovation, tourism as well as skill development between Canada and Gujarat, an official press release issued here said.

Patel also discussed partnership possibilities between Canada and Gujarat in the field of oil and gas exploration.  During the meeting with the Canadian High Commissioner, the Gujarat CM also expressed her desire to invite Non Resident Gujaratis (NRGs) living in Canada to celebrate Navratri here.

Later, Patel also held a meeting with the Swiss Ambassador who was in Gujarat to inaugarate a plant in Bharuch after a Swiss firm signed an MoU with the state during ‘Vibrant Gujarat Summit 2011', the release said.  During the meeting, Patel invited the Swiss government to take part in ‘Vibrant Gujarat Summit 2015' with a high-level delegation.

Patel and Castlemur discussed partnership possibilities between Gujarat and Switzerland in the field of knowledge, infrastructure, vocational education and skill development sector.

Castlemur also sought co-operation from Gujarat government to land a solar-powered airplane at Ahmedabad airport next year, the release said.
