Maharashtra political crisis: Shiv Sena leader Eknath Shinde along with rebel MLAs had left the state and have been camping in Assam's Guwahati for the past few days.
The Shiv Sena-led MVA dispensation is currently facing a survival crisis due to a rebellion by Sena minister Eknath Shinde, who is camping in Guwahati along with 37 Sena legislators and 10 independents.
In a tweet, Eknath Shinde said: "You can't scare us by applying for action against 12 MLAs. Because we are the real Shiv Sena and Shiv Sainik of the venerable Shiv Sena chief Balasaheb Thackeray."
In the tweet which had the video, Chadha said: "Legendary satirist Jaspal Bhatti's humourous take on the trading of MLAs may be decades old but aptly captures the prevalent political circus. However, as a democrat at heart, one doesn’t know whether to laugh or cry."
Chavan was reacting to Sena MP Sanjay Raut's statement earlier in the day that the Sena was "ready to consider" the demand of the MLAs led by Eknath Shinde that it should end the Maha Vikas Aghadi alliance with the NCP and Congress.

A group of rebel Maharashtra MLAs, led by Shinde, were flown to Guwahati today morning and were taken to a luxury hotel on the outskirts of the city amid tight security.
Eknath Shinde has been elected consecutively for four terms in the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly -- 2004, 2009, 2014, and 2019.
Earlier in the day, Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut said Shinde is not in Mumbai, but communication has been established with him. Raut asserted that the Sena is a party of loyalists.
Briefing mediapersons, Fadnavis said, "There are no ifs and buts in politics. Decisions are taken according to the prevailing circumstances. There might be some differences with Shiv Sena but we are not enemies."
It seems that a section of the Congress camp in Maharashtra is upset with the cabinet expansion of the Uddhav Thackeray-led government. A senior leader of the Congress party hoped that the party brass takes note of the feeling that loyalists are being ignored at a time when they deserved an opportunity.
Soon after taking charge as chief minister on November 28, Uddhav Thackeray ordered a stay on construction of Metro 3 carshed in Aarey Colony and gave directions for review of several big-ticket projects, including bullet train, started or approved when the BJP was in power.
The Shiv Sena, which has 18 MPs in the Lok Sabha, pointed out that most of the states from the North East region have opposed the CAB along with Bihar where the BJP is sharing power with the JD(U), and West Bengal.
The cabinet expansion was earlier scheduled for the first week of December. However, it has now been postponed to a later date. With 169 MLAs behind him, Shiv Sena's Uddhav Thackeray sailed through the floor test on the floor of the Maharashtra state assembly on November 30.
