Chhattisgarh news: When the 16-year-old girl was returning from a wedding, the accused intercepted her. They took her to a nearby forest where they allegedly raped her, Jashpur Additional Superintendent of Police Pratibha Pandey said.
The incident triggered a public outrage and people condemned the mother for abandoning her newborn baby in a dustbin.
The victims approached the Sarjapur police station, but it is alleged that the police Inspector Raghavendra Imbrapur refused to take the complaint.

Raids were also carried out at residences of former officers of Chenab Valley projects construction limited and premises of a construction company in Mumbai, New Delhi, Bihar and Jammu.
According to police sources, the victim, Rohit (26), was attacked by Sachin and his associates and was badly beaten by iron sticks, sharp edged weapons and lathis.
A forensic team and a dog squad are at the spot for investigation, Superintendent of Police Abhishek Agarwal said.
