In February this year, IndiGo announced its plans to roll out its air services to Kenya and Indonesia.
The country's domestic air passenger traffic was 114.67 lakh passengers in the year-ago period.
Air India pilot news: The Air India management acted against the pilot and the co-pilot soon after receiving a complaint from the cabin crew regarding an unauthorised female passenger entering the cockpit of the AI-445 aircraft.
The development closely follows IndiGo’s addition of a third daily flight on the Mumbai-Mangaluru route on May 22, an airport release in Mangaluru said.
As an interim measure, the airline has made arrangements for an alternate uniform for cabin crew in order to maintain business operations.
While regretting the disruption to its customers, Air India said the affected people have been offered the option of alternative flights or a full refund for the cancelled flight.
Air India flight AI 173 operating Delhi-SFO on June 6, carrying 216 passengers and 16 crew on board, was diverted to the Magadan port city in far east Russia following a mid-air glitch in one of the Boeing 777-200LR aircraft engines.
Air India flight: A senior official of Air India said that Flight AI173D from Magadan, Russia (GDX) is now airborne for San Francisco (SFO), carrying all passengers and crew. The flight departed GDX at 1027 Hours on June 8 (local time) and is expected to arrive at SFO at 0015 Hours (local time).
This development comes after an Air India flight which was headed to San Francisco from New Delhi, was diverted to Magadan on Tuesday after a technical issue with one of its engines.
Air India flight: Addressing the regular press briefing, State Department Deputy Spokesperson Vedant Patel said that the situation is continuously being monitored as the US-bound flight had to make an emergency landing in Russia.
According to an Air India official, the flight landed safely in Russia.
Wilson, who is piloting Air India's massive expansion plans in terms of fleet as well as routes, also said that IndiGo succeeding well and Tata airlines coming together provides a good competitor to the strength of IndiGo.
Air India spokesperson said that the passenger's unruly behavior continued after landing at Delhi airport. A report was filed on the incident to the regulator.
Air India CEO Campbell Wilson has said that they are hiring 550 cabin crew members, 50 pilots every month and expects delivery of new aircraft by year end.
Air India flight turbulence: "During flight seven passengers reported minor sprain. Cabin crew provided the first aid with the assistance of a doctor and a Nurse travelling as passengers, using an onboard first aid kit," the official said.
Air India CEO had received a complaint in this regard from one of the operating crew member of the flight. However, the organization did not take prompt corrective action. The complainant approached the DGCA.
The Indian Commercial Pilots Association (ICPA) and the Indian Pilots Guild (IPG) had opposed the airline’s revised compensation structure introduced on April 17.
As per the airline, the permanent general cadre officers who have reached the age of 40 or older are eligible for the offer.
Air India news: The female passenger was immediately administered medical treatment and rushed to the hospital soon after the plane landed.
