IND vs WI 1st ODI, Highlights: IND win by 3 runs

By looking at Team India's start, it seemed that they might put a 350+ target, but India posted 308/7, which was underwhelming. However, to look at the brighter side, Shardul Thakur ended India's innings with a boundary.

After Samson's dismissal, Joseph took the next two wickets, first of Deepak Hooda who scored 27 off 32 deliveries and then of Axar Patel who made 21 runs off 21 balls.

Sanju Samson's batting which was eagerly waited by his fans came to an end in the first ODI, when Romario Shepherd dismissed him on 12 runs. West Indies bowlers made a comeback and will want to restrict the Indian batters below 300.

Suryakumar Yadav who started his innings with a bang, was bowled by Akeal Hosein. In the short time that he stayed on the field, Yadav scored 13 runs from 14 balls including two boundaries.

Another spell by Motie and a wonderful catch by Pooran sent the set batsman Iyer back to the hut. Iyer scored 54 off 57 deliveries.

On Gudakesh Motie's delivery, Dhawan who was on 97 sliced the square drive. However, it ended into a heartbreak for Indian fans Shamarh Brooks took a brilliant catch. Dhawan's hunt for his 18th century in ODI and the 1st ODI century in West Indies continues.

After Gill's wicket, Dhawan continued to hit runs and is close to scoring a ton and on the other hand, Shreyas Iyer who came at number three is also looking in a good form. While Dhawan has smashed 10 boundaries and 2 sixes, Iyer hammered 3 fours and 2 maximums leading India to cross 200-run mark.

On Alzarri Joseph's delivery, West Indies skipper Nicholas Pooran sent Shubman Gill back to the pavilion with a stunning direct hit. India lost their first wicket at 17.4 overs. Gill scored 64 off 53 deliveries.

Shubman Gill scored his first ODI fifty off 36 balls. He hammered 6 boundaries and 2 sixes.
