New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal today launched a scathing attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi accusing him of deliberately going soft on Congress party chief Sonia Gandhi in the AgustaWestland scam.

Addressing AAP supporters at Jantar Mantar here, Kejriwal also charged the Modi-led NDA government of not pursuing the probe into the scam seriously.

"Before 2014 elections, Modiji had promised the people of this country that he will punish the corrupt. But it has been two years but nobody has been jailed...the probe has not moved an inch," he said.

He further dared the BJP government to arrest Sonia and other leaders in connection with the Rs 3,600 crore scam.

He asked the Center to handover the Anti-Corruption Branch to Delhi government and ‘it will show how to probe such cases’.

“Modiji doesn't even dare to ask Soniaji about this scam. We want to tell the PM that we made you our PM to punish the culprits not to protect them. We want ask why Soniaji has not been quizzed or put behind the bars yet,” he said.

“Prime Minister, we have elected you to take action not to leave everything at the mercy of Italy court. Why are you so scared of Sonia Gandhiji. Amit Shah stands and pleads before Sonia Gandhiji. Manohar Parrikarji pleads before Sonia Gandhiji. Is that why we have elected you to power?” he added.

Kejriwal further said that the two parties (BJP and Congress) had a "setting" that the BJP government will not arrest Gandhi in chopper scam and the Congress will not raise the matter of Modi's educational qualification.

"The Italian Court order also has names of Sonia Gandhi, Ahmed Patel, certain officers and Congressmen, but Modi is not able to gather enough courage to arrest Sonia Gandhi, to ask her even two questions, to interrogate her... Modi ji you have been made PM to take action not to leave the task for Italy court...Our chest would also be of 56 inch if you would have sent her to jail...when my PM says that Italy's court is taking Gandhi's name not and not him....I want to ask Modiji why are you scared of her?" Kejriwal said.

"When Anna agitation started, people wanted to change the government...they knew that both Congress and BJP are two sides of the same coin, but Modi ji gave such wonderful speeches before Lok Sabha polls that people's hopes were build that corruption will end," Kejriwal said.

Noting that during the poll campaigns, Modi said that he will take action against Congress president's son-in-law Robert Vadra for alleged irregularities in the land deal, but despite being in power for two years, and having state governments in Haryana and Rajasthan, he (Vadra) hasn't been interrogated even once.

"Modi had said that the corrupt will be sent to jail. It has been two years and not a single person has been sent to jail...the country has been cheated and hence we had to again gather against their 'alliance' four years after we had gathered at the same place to protest the corruption of these two parties," he said.

The VVIP chopper deal is once again in news from last few days after an Italian court referenced middlemen mentioning top Congress leaders, including Sonia and Manmohan Singh. The Agusta deal was signed in 2010 and was cancelled in 2014, after the allegations of corruption surfaced.

On PM Modi’s degree row, Kejriwal claimed that the Prime Minister ought to have apologised to Indians on degree row as it was clear that he had lied about his qualification.

“Prime Minister must apologise to the nation for lying about his degrees. We don’t want a Prime Minister with MA or BA degree, we want an honest PM,” he said.
