    The total number of COVID-19 positive cases in Maharashtra crosses 1 Lakh, stands at 1,01,141 after 3,493 positive cases were reported today. The total death toll stands at 3,717 out of which 127 were reported today.

    Tamil Nadu records 1,982 new COVID-19 positive cases

    Tamil Nadu records the highest single-day spike of 1,982 COVID-19 positive cases (Indigenous 1933 + Imported 49) today, 18 deaths, and 1,342 discharges also reported. The total number of positive cases stands at 40,698, including 367 deaths and 22,047 discharged.

    Armenia extends emergency for another month

    Authorities in Armenia have extended the state of emergency for another month until July 13, saying the coronavirus continues to remain a threat.     The total number of COVID-19 cases in Andhra Pradesh rose to 4,402 after 141 new cases were reported in the last 24 hours, out of which 2,599 have so far recovered and have been discharged, while 80 have died, the State Health Department said on Friday. With this, the number of active cases now stands at 1,723.

    Odisha reports 112 new COVID-19 cases, tally rises to 3,498

    The total number of COVID-19 cases in Odisha surged to 3,498 after 112 new cases were reported, the State Health and Family Welfare Department said on Friday. With these new patients, the number of active cases now stands at 1,131, while 2,354 patients have so far recovered from the infection, while 10 persons have succumbed to the disease.

    Nepal reports high COVID-19 cases among younger age groups

    The Nepal government has reported a substantially high number of COVID-19 cases among people aged between 21 and 30 years, according to official data. As of Thursday, cases among people aged between 21 and 30 years stood at 1,792 which represents nearly 39 per cent of total infections in the Himalayan country, reports Xinhua news agency. The country has reported 4,614 total cases with 15 deaths.

    Likewise, 1,195 cases were identified in the age group from 11 to 20 years and 975 cases were confirmed in the age group of 31-40 years, according to the Health Ministry.

    Nepal relaxes lockdown for most economic activities

    The Nepal government has decided to relax the ongoing COVID-19 lockdown in a phase-wise manner, allowing most of the economic activities to operate by following certain health protocol including social distancing measures, a Minister said.

    The government had enforced nationwide lockdown starting from March 24 to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic, reports Xinhua news agency.

    Turkey resumes international flights after 2 months

    Turkey has partially resumed international flights, after remaining suspended for nearly two months due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

    National flag carrier Turkish Airlines (THY) began its operation with a flight from Istanbul Airport to Dusseldorf in Germany on Thursday morning, which was followed by several other flights to some major cities like London and Amsterdam, reports Xinhua news agency.

    Israel reports 214 new COVID-19 cases

    The number of new COVID-19 cases in Israel surpassed 200, for the first time since April 25, according to the Ministry of Health. It said on Thursday that 214 new patients were added, bringing the total number of cases in the country to 18,569, Xinhua news agency reported. The death toll from the virus increased from 299 to 300, while the number of patients in serious condition increased from 31 to 34, out of 120 patients currently hospitalised.

    The number of recoveries rose to 15,250, with 63 new recoveries, while the number of active cases reached 3,019, the highest since May 18. Earlier on Thursday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu warned that if the increase in infections continues, restrictions that were lifted would have to be reimposed.

    Spain reports no COVID-19 deaths for 4th consecutive day

    The Spanish Ministry of Health, Consumer Affairs and Social Welfare reported no new deaths from COVID-19 for a fourth consecutive day. According to the ministry on Thursday, a total of 27,136 people have died from COVID-19 in Spain, with 32 people losing their lives to the virus in the past seven days, Xinhua news agency reported.

    The ministry also reported 156 new cases detected by PCR tests, which discover if the coronavirus is active in the body. The figure was down from 164 a day earlier. Of the new cases, 99 were in the regions of Madrid and Catalonia. As of Thursday, Spain reported a total of 242,707 confirmed cases of COVID-19.
