Noida, Jul 27: At least two persons were killed and twenty others injured early morning today when a gas tanker exploded due to leakage and caught fire in Surajpur Dadri area here, police said.
Fourteen fire tenders took over three hours to douse the fire, as nearby jhuggis and vehicles were also burnt after burning splinters fell on them, they said.
The incident took place when the driver noticed leakage in gas tanker's capsule and lost control over the vehicle, ramming it into a bridge divider, they said.
The tanker exploded, killing two persons and critically injuring others in the vicinity, they said.
Casualties could be more as eyewitnesses from different areas reported that they saw four people dead on the spot, police said.
