Lucknow: A minor girl was gangraped by village youth and then burnt alive in a Uttar Pradesh district Tuesday night. The girl sustained 80 percent burns and died in a district hospital Wednesday morning, police said.
The incident took place in Sirsa Kalaar area of Orai in the Jalaun district of the state. The girl, a student of class eight, had gone to a agriculture farm for toilet along with her elder sister. As the two were returning, three villagers, including local goon Ram Bahadur, dragged her to a nearby area and gangraped her, the girl's family told the police.
They further alleged that the girl threatened the assailants that she would tell the villagers, which prompted the trio to set her on fire.
