The horror comedy, which stars Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor, is drawing audiences to the theatres in droves and has entered the coveted Rs 100 crore-club. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh wrote, “#Stree shows a solid hold on third Mon... [Week 3] Fri 2.14 cr, Sat 3.76 cr, Sun 4.75 cr, Mon 1.87 cr. Total: ₹ 108.05 cr. India biz”.
As far as the business of the films with him in the main lead are concerned, then it was last year's Newton which made Rs 22.80 crore in its lifetime run. So, in all scenario, Stree is now officially his biggest hit till date and will also become his first Rs 100 crore grosser.
The horror comedy opened to positive response at the box office and continues to maintain its momentum. Within the first three days, Stree managed to collect Rs. 31.26 crore. The film recorded a box office collection of Rs. 60 crore within the first week.
Stree is now the ninth film released this year that has made more than Rs 100 crore. Previously, Padmaavat, Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety, Raid, Baaghi 2, Raazi, Race 3, Sanju, and Gold earned more than Rs 100 crore in 2018.
