Singer Sonu Nigam accepted the challenge from the Bengal cleric and shaved his head. Not only did the maulvi refuse to pay the promised 10 lakhs, now going a step ahead he says that the singer shaved his head because he wanted to get rid of lice. What? Yes, you read it right.

Speaking at the press conference today, Muslim cleric Syed Sha Atef Ali Al Quaderi stated that Sonu shaved his hair because he wanted to save himself from the summer heat. He also added that Sonu wanted to get rid of lies, thus he became bald.

Quaderi went on to say that the singer has to complete two challenges to win the prize money. He also appreciated PM Modi, who stopped his speech on hearing azaan and started speaking only when it got over.

With the controversy taking a bizarre turn, it seems this is not going to end anytime soon.

On Wednesday morning, Sonu Nigam announced in a tweet that he would shave his head in the afternoon, in response to a fatwa allegedly issued by a Muslim cleric in West Bengal.

Few days back, Sonu, who was woken up by the sound of Azaan criticised the use of loudspeakers at mosques and temples in a series of tweets.
