A total of forty public meetings have been planned for the Uttar Pradesh chief minister so far.

The municipal elections to be held in three phases from November 22, are seen as a litmus test for the state government's popularity.

On Monday, the Uttar Pradesh CM had expressed happiness that Ayodhya and Mathura-Vrindavan municipal corporations, constituted by his government, were going to polls for the first time.

The Uttar Pradesh Cabinet had given its approval for constitution of two new municipal corporations for Ayodhya and Mathura-Vrindavan on May 9. The idea behind the decision was to provide better amenities to pilgrims.
