Clearly, AMOLED displays are stars of the show. The two tablets sport Super AMOLED displays (2560x1600p) and are powered by Exynos 5 Octa processor running a 1.9 GHz QuadCore and 1.3 GHz QuadCore running simultaneously. Samsung's Super AMOLED displays are an eye-candy, as it offers excellent color reproduction, incredible contrast and deep blacks. In a Super AMOLED screen, the light comes from each individual pixel and to 'show' black, that pixel is effectively turned off. This gives a true black rather than 'nearly' black, and the result is an incredible contrast that makes the surrounding areas of colour look even more vibrant. Given that Samsung has almost perfected its AMOLED displays on smartphones, the Galaxy Tab S displays are even pretty good to look at.

The devices run Android 4.4 KitKat, and are offered with 8 MP rear cameras. They are compatible with voice calling and are LTE (FDD).

The tablets come with 16GB which can be raised to 128GB with an external card. The 10.5-inch tablet comes with a humongous battery of 7,900 mAh which goes well with the larger display of the screen – meant to consumer more power as compared to tablets in shorter size version. Galaxy Tab S 8.4-inch is offered with a 4,900 mAh battery which is still big as compared to others.
