Lok Sabha elections 2024: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday addressed the 'Nari Shakti Samvad' event in his Lok Sabha constituency Varanasi, which will vote in the seventh and last phase of Lok Sabha elections 2024. Slamming the INDIA bloc, the Prime Minister said that the Opposition's ideology is against women and their reservation.

"The presence of so much 'matra shakti' at this event is overwhelming me. You all took out time to come here, I am grateful to you," PM Modi said at the event which was attended by over 25000 women.

Slamming the Opposition, PM Modi said, "What did the Congress and SP governments do to women... They only neglected them. The mentality of the INDI alliance is anti-women. The INDI Alliance opposes Women's Reservations."

PM Modi lauded CM Yogi Adityanath-led government in Uttar Pradesh on women's safety while taking a dig at SP leader Mulayam Singh Yadav's 'boys will be boys' remark.

"Women were neglected during Congress, Samajwadi Party rule," PM Modi at women's conference in Varanasi.

"No matter how busy I am in campaigning, I am always very relaxed about Varanasi, I am not at all worried because you take care of everything. So, I will first say that in this summer, take care of your health. You have to go people's houses, villages and booths and hence, my advice is that you drink a lot of water, and take water along with you," said PM Modi.

PM Modi urges women voters for record voting

Prime Minister Narendra Modi while addressing the 'Nari Shakti Samvad' event urged them to come out in large numbers on the polling day and vote in record numbers.

He told them "we have to win every booth and bloom lotus everywhere".

"INDI alliance opposes reservation for women. Wherever their government comes to power, the life of women becomes difficult. People of Varanasi are familiar with the 'jungle raj' of both Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. Daughters had to leave their studies and sit at home for their safety and SP people shamelessly used to say that they are boys, boys make mistakes. If SP boys make a mistake today, Yogi Adityanath's government will do something to them that they would not have even imagined," the Prime Minister said.

"Leaders of the INDI alliance openly say that they will destroy the energy in Hindus, but after June 4, Modi government will make your 'shakti' as 'maha shakti'... I am continuously working for the public without stopping or getting tired...," the Prime Minister added.

After addressing the event, Prime Minister Narendra Modi along with Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath offered prayers at Varanasi's Sankat Mochan Hanuman temple.
