Ghaziabad: Several people were injured while 9 arrested after a brawl broke out between guests and DJ staff during a wedding function in a hotel here over playing music after the permitted hours.

The argument broke out after guests demanded to play the music at around 2 am, however, the hotel management refused to entertain the request.

Generally during functions, music in parties is allowed till 10 pm.

In this incident, which started over a heated argument, several people who were attending the function have been injured while condition of a woman is said to be serious and is admitted to the ICU.

DCP Ravi Kumar said that the brawl happened at Hotel The Grand IRS.

A video of the incident which has gone viral on social media shows people fighting using sticks while injured lying on the floor. A few blood stains were also visible.

According to reports, it was a 'Cocktail Party' which was followed by the Haldi ceremony earlier on Saturday.

Reports further say that the hotel is owned by a BJP leader.

Post the incident, former UP chief minister Akhilesh Yadav shared the video of the brawl and slammed the Yogi government saying that in UP, the BJP government has performed the final rites of law and order.
