Alert: Heavy rain in 23 states for next 48 hours
Over the last three days, the Pune and Konkan divisions in Maharashtra have witnessed torrential rains that triggered landslides and floods in some areas. The toll from rain-related incidents in the state has risen. To rescue stranded, two teams of National Disaster Response Force were deployed while coast guard was also instructed for a helicopter to airlift people in need.
After heavy monsoon rain in Bihar and Nepal and Assam the water level in all major rivers in the states has risen. With several rivers flowing above the danger mark. Relief and rescue operations are on in the flood-affected areas.
