Kanpur, Jan 7: A case has been registered against Vishwa Hindu Parishad leader Praveen Togadia here for allegedly violating model code of conduct.
Togadia has been booked under relevant sections of IPC for his provocative speech during an event in Kakadev area organised by the Kanpur branch of the VHP today, DIG Rajesh Rai said.
The VHP leader had opposed the 4.5 per cent reservation to Muslims within the OBC quota during his speech on Friday.
He had said that granting reservation to Muslims within the OBC quota would hurt the interests and rights of backward caste Hindus.
