Centre asks CBI to probe disappearance of Swami Ramdev's guru Shankar Dev

New Delhi, Feb 5 : The Centre has asked the Central Bureau of Investigation to probe the disappearance of Swami Shankar Dev, guru of Baba Ramdev, who has not been seen since July, 2007. The

According to officials, police found a handwritten note in which Shankar Dev had apologized for not being able to repay loans.  He had written that his creditors were staying in the ashram.



The letter states: “Yashdev Shastriji, Beliramji, Chakordas Nirvanji and other saints, please pardon me. I could not return your money. I regret for my inability and am in pain. I hope all of you will pardon me. Yours truly - Swami Shankar Dev.”

The local police immediately considered this as Shankar Dev's suicide note.
