Nawazuddin Siddiqui, who has turned a year older today,  is one of those rare breeds of actors who can effortlessly slip into any role. Be it the role of a journalist, a psychopath, a killer, a common man or an underworld don, Nawaz manages to breathe life into these characters. He selects the projects which have more content in them rather than going after money and almost all of his projects have been received positively. On the special occasoion of his 45th birthday, here are five strong statements made by birthday boy Nawazuddin Siddiqui.

Nawazuddin Siddiqui's struggle is real 

Nawazuddin Siddiqui had to struggle a lot to make it big in the Hindi film industry. But, do you know that he used to dance at weddings for money? Yes, the actor, once revealed that as a kid he used to dance at occasions such as marriages to collect money.  "As a kid I used to often dance at weddings with my friends. People used to throw money at baraatis (friends and families of the groom). I along with my friends used to attend all of the weddings in our area and collect money", the actor was quoted as saying.

I am the highest paid actor in Bollywood in terms of acting: Nawazuddin Siddiqui

Nawazuddin Siddiqui said he is the "highest paid actor in Bollywood in terms of acting" and he has thanked film makers for this. Replying to questions in Rajat Sharma's show Aap Ki Adalat in 2017 , Siddiqui said: "I am the highest paid actor in industry as far as acting is concerned. I did not have to ask. They (film makers) themselves started paying me this."

When Nawazuddin Siddiqui hinted at racism in Bollywood

His powerful statement caught much attention and we couldn’t help but nod in agreement.Challenging all stereotypes that one needs to be fair and handsome to make it big in the industry, Nawazuddin has surely come a long way. However, the actor was prompted to make his point in atweet. Taking to his official Twitter handle, the Kahani actor said, “Thank U 4 making me realise dat I cannot b paired along wid d fair & handsome bcz I m dark & not good looking, but I never focus on that”. 

Nawazuddin Siddiqui's humble response to 'you have left all the Khans behind'

Recently, Nawazuddin Siddiqui was asked to react to a fan's comment, which said that he has left all Bollywood Khans behind.  "Sabhi Khan ko peeche chhod diya aapne," Arbaaz Khan said in his show Pinch. The actor, who was last seen in Photograph and Thackeray, burst out giggling and said, "Bhai, mujhe kaam karne do." Watch Pinch teaser here.
