New Delhi: Renault India has launched the Duster All Wheel Drive (AWD) variant in RxL variant (costing Rs 11.87 lakh) and the RxZ variant (priced at Rs 12.99 lakh) (ex-showroom, Delhi).
AWD gives the SUV the ability to intuitively access the road and constantly engage all wheels. The new variant offers three driving modes including two-wheel drive, automatic and four-wheel drive. There is also an option of ‘eco' mode that increases fuel economy by almost 10 per cent. These three driving modes can be operated by a dial placed on the centre console. The car is mated to a six speed transmission.
Cosmetic upgrades include new blacked out head lights in the front and alloy wheels coloured in grey. On the inside, the cabin gets a new instrument console, touchscreen audio system and cruise control. The instrument panel comes with a useful tell-all display that gives information about service intervals to real-time fuel consumption and distance-to-empty etc.
The car is powered by the 1.5 dCi THP diesel engine with 110 PS@4000 RPM of maximum power and torque of 245NM@1750 RPM.
Renault claims that the new Duster AWD is capable of returning an excellent fuel efficiency of 19.72 kmpl.
The company says the engineers have done extensive work on the 4x4 variant and the new model features independent suspension all-round to improve the car's off-road performance. With AWD the carmaker is also offering hill start assistance.
The Duster, in its AWD trim, includes safety features such as ABS, ESP, ASR, and 'Understeer Control.' The Duster AWD also gets impact sensing door unlocking feature which can come in great help in case of a mishap.
With the Duster AWD, Renault has also introduced a new colour - Amazon Green.
The Duster accounted for nearly 75 per cent of the automaker's total sales in 2013.
