Narrating the incident, a student said, more than 12 people reached the premises  and asked the students to open the gate.

After the students refused to open the gate, the robbers said they were CBI officers and told them that they were here to inspect. The gate was then opened for them.

The robbers entered the premises, attacked the priests and students and ransacked the temple. Thirty-four kg silver and 400 gm gold along with some cash was robbed after which the assailants fled the place.
