Shivraj Singh Chouhan had said that he and all other BJP MLAs will sing 'Vande Mataram' on the first day of the Madhya PradeshAssembly session.
In 2005, the tradition of reciting the national song was started by former BJP Chief Minister Babulal Gaur.
Singing of the national song in the Mantralaya or secretariat on the first working day of every month has been the norm since the time of erstwhile Shivraj Singh Chouhan government of the BJP.
Members of social welfare organisation Manas Mandir found that the students in the institution were being punished for singing 'Vande Mataram' or chanting 'Bharat Mata ki Jai' after the school prayers and complained about the same to the authorities.
Describing the decision of dropping the stanzas of the song as a “big mistake,” Shah said that the Congress party put a “blot of communalism” on such a pure work of Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay.
As the singer stopped the song abruptly after the first line, people look at each other in surprise. It later emerged that the party leaders reportedly directed her to finish the song in one line.
"Those who have reservation in saying Bharat Mata ki Jai and Vande Matram are Pakistanis and they have no right to live in the country," the MLA from Bairia said.
A scuffle broke out during a general body meeting of the civic body here today after two AIMIM corporators refused to stand up when 'Vande Mataram' was played.
The case has been filed in Darbhanga district of the state against the Rashtriya Janata Dal leader over his tweet that sought to equate the national song with beating up or killing people
The conclave which began with Defence Minister Arun Jaitley's session on India's defence preparedness ended with Home Minister Rajnath Singh's list of achievements against terror forces in different parts of the country.
Rajnath Singh said that the government was working to find a permanent solution to the Kashmir problem and all steps taken by the Centre have been in that direction only.
