Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Friday announced that night curfew will be imposed in 5 districts - Indore, Bhopal, Gwalior, Vidisha, and Ratlam from November 21.
Punjab CM Captain Amarinder Singh on Monday announced more relaxations in lockdown in urban areas, including opening of non-essential shops on Saturdays and relaxation in their timing from Monday to Saturday till 9 pm.
In order to curb the spread of coronavirus, Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh on Friday announced the extension of the night curfew from 9 pm to 5 am to all cities, along with a slew of other measures to control the spread of the pandemic.
Night curfews will now be observed from 10 pm to 5 am as opposed to the earlier timing of 8 pm to 5 am, the official from the state public relations department said.
Night curfew hours in Noida, Meerut, Ghaziabad, Bulandshahr, Hapur and Muzaffarnagar have been revised to 8 pm to 6 am. Earlier, night curfew was being imposed in these districts from 9 pm to 5 am. The move has come amid increasing cases of COVID-19.
According to the MHA order, the night curfew will remain in effect from 9 PM in the evening to 5 am in the morning during Lockdown 5.0, instead of the earlier 7 PM- 7 AM timing
Night curfew in the state of Rajasthan will continue post May 31. Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has directed for the continuation of the curfew to minimise the risk of a spike in coronavirus cases. Gehlot asked his officials to ensure that there should be no laxity in the night curfew in the state.
The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) on Sunday evening released the guidfelines for lockdown 4.0 which will be in place for another two weeks till May 31. According to the MHA guidelines, the night curfew will remain in place between 7 pm to 7 am in order to contain the spread of the virus.
