Delhi's particulate matter (PM) 2.5 pollution levels on Wednesday morning were three to four times above the national standard of 60 microgram per cubic metre for 24 hours.

Meanwhile, the air quality of Noida remains in the 'moderate' category with the AQI at 119. However, the air quality of Gurugram improved to the 'satisfactory' category with the AQI at 81.
This was the best air quality in Delhi since October 26, 2021, when it was recorded at 139.
The mercury is likely to drop to around four degrees Celsius after the withdrawal of western disturbance, a Skymet Weather official has said.
Delhi, generally, has good to satisfactory air quality. However, the pollution levels spike from October to February due to various factors including stubble burning, road dust, vehicle pollution, and cold weather, leading to a deterioration in the AQI.
The level of PM10 (226) and PM2.5 (122) pollutants in the air were recorded in the moderate and very poor categories, respectively with the latter being the major source of pollutant in the city.
