Naidu alleged that the NDA government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi disappointed the country despite having absolute majority.
Calling the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) the "B-team" of Prime Minister Modi, Rahul Gandhi flayed the K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR)-led government for farmers' distress and rising unemployment in Telangana.
The TDP had an alliance with the BJP during 2014 elections in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.
Naidu will take part in the electioneering along with Rahul Gandhi on November 28 and 29, the sources told PTI.
"We are not trying to make a nationwide mega alliance. Our effort is to form state-wise alliances, giving primacy to the major political party in every state," said Pawar.
A fresh date for the meeting would be announced very soon, the Andhra Pradesh chief minister said.
West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee has also backed Naidu's move and said her government is checking the steps taken by the CBI as the agency has 'lost its credibility'.
The Telugu Desam President said the endeavour was to bring everybody on board to fight the Bharatiya Janata Party.
In a statement, TDP politburo member and state Finance Minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu asked if there was a "bigger anaconda" than Modi.
The meeting comes amid seat-sharing talks between the two parties for the Assembly elections.
In his second visit to New Delhi in less than a week, Naidu will call on Gandhi as part of his efforts to bring all opposition parties on a common platform.
Lok Sabha elections 2019: The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) was part of the NDA till March this year. It pulled out of the ruling coalition at the Centre alleging the government's refusal to grant special category status to Andhra Pradesh.
The severe cyclonic storm hit the two districts early Thursday, with winds gusting up to 165 kilometers per hour.
The decision has come a day after the Rajasthan CM Vasundhara Raje announced a four-per cent reduction in value-added tax (VAT) on petrol and diesel on Sunday. The reduction in VAT reduced fuel prices by Rs 2.5 per litre in the state.
"I want to tell the nation what is being done to the state. BJP has betrayed us yet again and that's unfortunate," said Chandrababu Naidu.
He was addressing anganwadi teachers, who came to thank him for enhancing their salaries, at his residence here, a release from the Telugu Desam Party said.
Mamata Banerjee said they would not leave any scope for any party to place obstacles in the coming together of regional parties.
On his 69th birthday, Naidu chose not to celebrate his birthday and sat on a fast instead to protest against the alleged injustice meted out to the state due to the "non-implementation" of the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act, 2014.
"There should be a limit to political acrimony. He is doing politics over the matter of development. He should not go to the extent of saying that the BJP is attacking Andhra," Javadekar said.
It is believed that Naidu discussed the issue of Special Category Status (SCS), promised under the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act, 2014, and the "injustice" met out to his state by the Centre.
