Virat Kohli is gaining praises right now from all over the world after his blistering maiden century against England in the tough conditions at Edgbaston. With all the odds stacked up against Virat Kohli, the Indian cricket captain battled hard to notch up his 22nd Test century. He scored 149 runs, which will rank amongst one of the finest hundreds by an Indian batsman on English soil.

Cricket fraternity heaped praises on Kohli - from Sachin Tendulkar to Shoaib Akhtar everyone congratulated him and considered it one of his best Test innings. The latest inductee in the list is former Australian great and captain Steve Waugh. He recently posted a photo of Kohli with the caption,"This guy is a global superstar. Will break all records in world cricket. @virat.kohli #india #ultimatecompetitor #passion"

Waugh was the strongest pillar of Australian golden era. He played 168 test matches and scored 10927 runs with an outstanding average of 48.65. Waugh is considered as one the greatest captains in the cricket history.

Virat also scored 51 runs in the second innings of the Test match, however, India lost the Test match by 31 runs. It will be an uphill task for Virat Kohli in the remaining part of the series to lead Team India to cover up the 0-1 lead.
