Superstar Rajinikanth received India's highest film honour Dadasaheb Phalke Award for his outstanding contribution to the world of Indian cinema. The actor worked as a bus conductor before embarking on his film journey about 45 years ago.

The prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke, awarded for excellence in cinematic achievement, is the highest honour in film and is awarded by the government. Megastar Rajinikanth will receive the prestigious award for his stupendous contribution to the world of Indian cinema. 

Veteran actor Srikanth is known for his many supporting roles in films starring top stars of Tamil cinema, including the late Sivaji Ganesan, Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan.  

Slated for a Deepavali release on November 4, the rural drama stars Rajinikanth, Nayanthara, Prakash Raj, Keerthy Suresh, Sathish, Khushbu, Meena, Soori and Robo Shankar in pivotal roles.

Singaporean rapper Yung Raja has paid an ode to superstar Rajinikanth through his new single, titled 'Spice Boy'. "He's such a legend world over and I wanted to give an ode of sorts to him and celebrate his supremacy," he said.

"I don't have any plans to enter politics in the future,” Rajinikanth said after his meeting with RMM functionaries.
