New Delhi: It seems to be a season for commoners across the world to score spectacular victories in political arena and underline the fact that they are second to none if given equal opportunity.

After Narendra Modi, a former tea-seller, emerged victorious in Indian general elections of 2014, Joko Widodo , son of a wood-seller and a former furniture- seller , has won the Indonesian presidential elections.

‘Jokowi', as he is affectionately called by his supporters, is a self-made man and is known to have made his political career with honesty and true dedication to the service of the people especially the underprivileged sections of the Indonesian society.
