Charbagh Railway Station, Lucknow



One of the two main stations of the Lucknow city, Charbagh Station's foundation stone was laid in 1914 and was completed in 1923. Having an outside look of a palace, it has a mix of Rajput, Awadhi and Mughal architecture. The most amazing part of this railway station is that an aerial view of the station building shows it as a chess board and the domes and pillars of the building appear to be pieces of a chess game.


Trivandrum Central, Kerala

 

One of the oldest railway stations in India, Trivandrum Central station was built during the reign of Sethu Lakshmi Bayi, the Maharani of Travancore, and inaugurated on 4 November 1931. An important rail hub in Southern Railway, Trivandrum Central Station is the largest and busiest railway station in Kerala in terms of passenger movement.
