BJP, AAP clash: Delhi court releases 14 AAP supporters on bail

New Delhi: Fourteen Aam Aadmi Party workers who were arrested in connection with clashes with BJP supporters at the latter's national headquarters here were on Thursday granted bail by a Delhi court. Metropolitan Magistrate Akash

Earlier, Delhi Police late Wednesday night released all Aam Aadmi Party female workers detained in connection with protest and clashes outside BJP party headquarters.

Police registered an FIR against AAP Leaders Ashutosh, Shazia Ilmi, Prof Anand, and some AAP workers in Parliament Street Police station under these sections:- 145(unlawful assembly), 147(Rioting), 149(unlawful activities), 332(Obstructing the public servant in imparting his duty), 353( Assault on public servant), 427(Damage of property and Prevention of damage to public Property Act.

AAP workers on Wednesday had  fought running battles with BJP activists outside the saffron party headquarters in Delhi and Lucknow hours and Arvind Kejriwal's car was damaged in Gujarat in retaliation to protests against his brief detention in the state.

The violence on the streets came on a day the Election Commission announced the Lok Sabha poll schedule and police in Gujarat stopped Kejriwal, who began a 4-day tour of the state, on his tracks for alleged violation of the model code of conduct by travelling in a long carcade. Shortly later, he was allowed to go.
