After winning the hearts of the audience hands down with his jaw-dropping performance in Sacred Games. Now he’s back with another powerful character Balasaheb Thackeray in his next film Thackeray. In the biopic of Thackeray, Siddiqui is playing the role of founder of Shiv Sena in the film directed by Abhijit Panse. At an event in Mumbai on Wednesday, the trailer was dropped among the audience. Not only did Nawazuddin Siddiqui stepped into the shoes of the political leader, but also adapted to his body language and personality well. Actress Amrita Rao is playing his wife Meena Tai Thackeray in the film.

The trailer showcases the rise of Balasaheb Thackeray from a humble human being to a political leader who has the grit to mobilize people. It also features various important events of the past including Babri Masjid demolition, Bombay riots, for which Thackeray was questioned in the court.

Talking about Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s performance, the actor who is already versatile and adaptive, has left no stone unturned to get into the skin of his character. Right from his one-liners to his body language, everything gets full marks. The teaser of the film was launched around this time last year by megastar Amitbabh Bachchan.

Directed by Abhijit Panse and written and produced by Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut, the film is slated to release on January 25.
