Mandela lost his father at an early age and joined the Jongintaba at the Great Place in Mqhekezweni. He was soon inspired by tales of bravery and fearlessness his ancestor's showed during their struggle for independence. His inspiration ignited a feeling of working towards the freedom of his people.
