3.  Marrying a Tree: India

This may not sound odd to the Asian people  but it may be a bit weird to others. But tradition is tradition and it should be followed the way it is. Girls who are Mangliks (an astrological combination when Mars and Saturn are both under the 7th house), are said to be apparently cursed and it is believed that their husbands die an early death.  So, to get free from this curse, they are married to a tree and after that the tree is cut down to break the curse.

4. Beating the groom's feet: Korea

In Korean tradition, the groom has to get his feet bitten from a fish or a cane before the first night as a married man. It's done so that he doesn't disappoint his bride on their wedding night.

5. Indonesian style

It's not just the wedding day that has some weird and wonderful customs; Indonesian couples are housebound for almost three days and nights following their wedding. Moreover, they aren't allowed to use the toilet. It's something really weird by not letting them to even use washrooms and that also for three whole days. The couples are watched over and are allowed minimal amounts of food and drink.

It's believed that this sort of house arrest gives them a good married life with healthy babies.

6 . Délicieux Toilette La Soupe: France

This is the worst wedding tradition I have come so far. After the wedding ceremony, the bridal party is supposed to collect all of the leftovers; such as bits of waste food, and anything else that's consider as garbage after the party is over.

They then are served in a disgusting toilet bowl. The bridal party would not leave until the couple drinks it. It's given to the couples so that they get the fuel to have a great night ahead.

Though, today the soup has been changed with chocolate, you're still made to drink brown stuff and that also out of a real live toilet bowl. Ewwww!!!!

7.  Kidnapping the Brides: Romania

In Romania, the man kidnaps the woman he wants to get married to or the couples run away without taking consent of their parents.

It's believed that if you manage to convince or kidnap the girl and she remains with you for at least 2- 3 days you are officially declared her husband.

8.  Shooting the Bride: China

Different people have different customs. In China's Yugur culture, grooms are made to shoot their future brides with three bows and arrows that don't have the arrowheads. Once the shooting is done, the groom needs to collect the same arrows. They then need to break them, therefore ensuring that they will love each other forever.
