Honeypreet, the controversial adopted daughter of jailed Dera Sacha Sauda sect chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh, is expected to surrender in Panchkula court today.

Honeypreet, who has been evading arrest for past 38 days, today told a news channel that she and her father Gurmeet Ram Rahim have full faith in justice. "My father is innocent, truth will prevail," she said. Indicating that she may opt to surrender before court, she said that after the Delhi High Court, she will now approach the Punjab and Haryana High Court for bail.

Honeypreet, who has been on the run from several law enforcement agencies, categorically denied the charges levelled against her and said that she is not an anti-national and that she was not a participant in violence in Panchkula and Sirsa in Haryana that followed the Dera chief's sentencing.

The development comes days after a court in Panchkula, adjoining Chandigarh, issued arrest warrants against top Dera functionaries Honeypreet, Aditya Insan and Pawan Insan.

The Delhi High Court had also dismissed the anticipatory bail plea of Honeypreet Insan, who has been the closest aide of Ram Rahim since 2009. The court had asked Honeypreet to surrender and join the investigation.

Ram Rahim has been sentenced to 20 years of rigorous imprisonment and a fine of over Rs 30 lakh. His rape conviction led to violence leaving 38 people dead and 264 injured.
