Soorma movie starring Diljit Dosanjh releases today
Shaad Ali's directorial Soorma, starring Diljit Dosanjh in the titular role has finally hit theatres on July 13. It is a biopic on former Hockey player, Sandeep Singh also known as Flicker Singh. The movie traces his journey from being a lazy lad to a determined man who didn't give up despite being shot by bullet. Sandeep met with a deadly accident and was on a wheelchair for years. However, the sportsperson made a smashing comeback after two years, becoming an inspiration for many. Under the captaincy of Sandeep, India won the 2009 Sultan Azlan Shah Cup and even qualified for the 2012 Olympics. Soorma also features Taapsee Pannu, Kulbhushan Kharbanda and Angad Bedi in important roles. The music has been composed by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy. Check out photos of screening.
Janhvi Kapoor wants one chance from audience
Actress Janhvi Kapoor, who is marking her Hindi film debut with forthcoming Dhadak, says she understands a section of society is not happy with the Hindi remake of Sairat but all they want is a chance from audience. Janhvi also added that she doesn't want to give too much attention to the pressure of being part of the celebrated Kapoor family. Dhadak, an official adaption of Marathi blockbuster film Sairat, has evoked criticism from a section of audience. Reacting to the criticism, Janhvi said: "I can understand that so many people are still in love with that film (Sairat) including us.
"Sairat is really special and iconic film but we are trying to show that story through new perspective... We just want one chance from the audience to watch the film as we have made this with a lot of hard work and honesty." Read full story
Shah Rukh Khan and Aanand L Rai are in 'love love'
Shah Rukh Khan took to his social media accounts to share a new picture with his forthcoming film, Zero's director, Aanand L Rai. Alongside the picture, he wrote, ''The women on the sets made us take this...and pyaar ही प्यार, बेशुमार हो गया। Through the windows to our souls...we found the same thing...''
Mithun Chakraborty's Son Mahaakshay and Madalsa Sharma's wedding reception
Bollywood actor Mithun Chakraborty's son Mahaakshay, also known as Mimoh threw a lavish reception party after his wedding with Madalsa Sharma in a private ceremony on July 10. Mahaakshay is currently out on bail in a rape case. While Madalsa has worked in a couple of south Indian films like Fitting Master, Aalasyam Amrutam, Pathayeram Kodi and Patiala Dream, Mimoh began his career with Jimmy.
