Actor Irrfan Khan, who is currently undergoing the treatment of neuroendocrine tumour in London, was honoured with the Best Actor Award for his film Hindi medium at IIFA 2018. He recently shared a heartfelt post on social media thanking people for being the part of his journey. As he was not present at the ceremony, his Haider co-star Shraddha Kapoor accepted the award on his behalf. Well, his fans have been congratulating him on social media and finally, Irrfan made them happy with this post.
Sharing pic from the event on micro-blogging site Twitter, Irrfan tweeted, “Thank you to @IIFA and our audience who have been part for my journey #IIFA2018.”
In March, the actor revealed that he has been diagnosed with this rare disease. His post came as a big shock and people prayed for his speedy recovery.
The glittering ceremony of IIFA 2018 took place this Sunday. Hindi Medium director Saket Choudhary was also honoured at the event. Late actress Sridevi won The Best Actress Award for Mom. Her husband Boney Kapoor got emotional while receiving the trophy.
On a related note, the actor was last seen in Abhinav Deo’s Blackmail. Filmmaker Vishal Bharadwaj has postponed his upcoming film due to Irrfan’s illness. The movie will feature Deepika Padukone alongside him.
