Bollywood star Akshay Kumar is dedicating Singh Is Kinng 2 to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.

The star, who met the PM during his state visit to Canada, told him about his plan for the sequel and how the movie would open with the line 'Dedicated to Prime Minister Manmohan Singhji', says a media report.

Akshay, who is holidaying with his family in Barbados, said, "Yes, I did tell our PM about it. When Manmohan Singhji heard that I would be dedicating a film to him, he gave me a broad smile.

He knew that he was being referred to as 'Singh is King' after the release of the first movie. "The PM stepped aside to talk to me. That's when I told him about my plan. It was such a big honour. A moment I felt truly proud to be an Indian."The sequel is slated to roll early 2011.

Akshay had hosted a dinner at Toronto's Westin Harbour Castle and Convention Centre in honour of the PM and his wife Gurusharan Kaur as well as Canadian Premier Stephen Harper and his wife Laureen.

The 'Khiladi' was also invited by Harper to the meeting he held with Manmohan Singh to discuss the G20 summit and the scope for India and Canada to indulge in bilateral trade.

Akshay, who considers Canada his second home, is the Canadian Tourism Commission's ambassador to promote the country as a premier destination in India. The actor had also carried the Olympic torch for Canada in Toronto during the 2010 Winter Olympic Torch Relay.
