After failed attempts to find money, he sold his daughter to someone when his wife was not at home.
Accused Mohan Kewat was arrested on Friday evening. According to complaint lodged by Mohan's wife Puspha she had gone out for work on April 20 leaving her 4-year-old son and daughter Radhika home.
Radhika was missing when she returned home in the evening. When she questioned Mohan about her, the former feigned ignorance.
After a frantic search when she failed to trace Radhika, Puspha got suspicious and informed the community members.
When they confronted him, Mohan confessed to having sold his daughter to a woman for Rs 150.
The community members then beat him up and handed over to the Kotwali police station.
