A 13-year-old mentally-challenged girl was allegedly raped in the Khurja Nagar area of Uttar Pradesh's Bulandshah, said police. The villagers caught the culprit in a naked state at the crime scene and were beaten up by the people.
The girl's brother informed the police that a man named Kanhaiya (30) had raped his mentally challenged sister. It is reported that the accused is a friend of the victim's brother.
Accused have been arrested
According to the Superintendent of Police (Rural) Bajrang Bali Chaurasia, the incident occurred when the girl had gone to play in the village. Chaurasia further said that after receiving information about the incident, the police immediately rushed to the village and arrested the accused.
The girl has been sent for a medical examination and further investigation is underway, he added.
