Brajesh Pathak is the new deputy Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh. He was earlier, Minister of Legislative, Justice, Rural Engineering service in the Uttar Pradesh Government. Born on June 25, 1964, he was also a Member of Parliament of Unnao from 2004 to 2009. He is a main Brahmin face of the party. He was earlier a part of the Bahujan Samaj Party (2004), but later joined the BJP in the presence of Home Minister Amit Shah. He was made an MLA in the 2017 Legislative Assembly Elections in Uttar Pradesh. He defeated his nearest rival Samajwadi Party candidate Ravidas Mehrotra by a margin of 5,094 votes. August 21, 2019, after the first cabinet expansion of Yogi Adityanath his ministry department changed as Minister of Legislative, Justice, Rural Engineering service.
