A left-hander blessed with all the shots in the book, Jean-Paul Duminy proved his worth as a gritty middle-order player in the Test format for South Africa. But best with injuries he couldn't transform his potential into the match-winner that his team needed. Being in and out of the side hasn't helped his cause neither has the emergence of younger and more attacking players. However Duminy has a knack of making comebacks and with his off-spin bowling he still is part of the Proteas ODI setup. However, at 35 during the 2019 World Cup, it is difficult to see him prolonging his career after the tournament.
