Tamim Iqbal Bangladesh’s left-handed opener currently tops the current list of top scorers in the ICC World T20 Championship 2016. Playing in his sixth World Cup, Tamim has so far scored 295 runs in 6 matches with an average of 73.75. He smashed an unbeaten 103 runs from just 63 balls in a qualifying match against Oman.
Virat Kohli: 273 runs in five innings with an average of 136.50 and a strike rate of 146.77 – no reason why he has been declared the Player of the Tournament. After his memorable 82-run innings against Australia in the virtual quarter finals, he also regained the top position in the ICC rankings.
Joe Root: Standing fourth in the list of top scorers in World T20 2016, Joe Root made 249 runs in 6 matches. His aggressive 83-run knock against South Africa is surely an inning to remember.
Mohammad Shahzad: Afghanistan’s wicket-keeper batsman, Mohammad Shahzad stands second in the list of top scorers with 222 runs in seven matches. Playing his fourth ICC World T20, Shahzad is the only Afghanistan batsman to score more than 1,000 runs in T20I cricket.
Jos Buttler: England’s 24-year-old wicketkeeper-batsman scored 191 runs in six innings with a whopping strike rate of 159.16. He played a major role in England’s journey to the finals of the tournament.
