New Delhi: Security of Mumbai attack mastermind Hafiz Saeed’s security has been enhanced with number of guards at his residence being doubled.

Not just his residence but the headquarters of JuD has also received enhanced security arrangement.

Four barricades have been setup at a distance of 300 metres outside the house of the Lashkar-e-Taiba chief. A total of 48 security personnel are now deployed at his house, located at E Block, Jauhar Town in Lahore with 16 police personnel working in three shifts.

Along with police personnel, a number of Jama'at-ud-Da'wah members with sophisticated weapons were also seen in the house. Saeed’s movement have also been restricted.

Security at the residence of Saeed’s brother-in-law Abdul Rahman Makki has also been beefed up.

Indian security agencies are puzzled over the increased security of Lashkar-e-Taiba chief and trying to ascertain the reason behind it.

The last time when Saeed received this level of security was in October following a Home department alert that a "foreign intelligence agency" could make an attempt on his life.

Saeed, who orchestrated the November 2008, Mumbai terror attack in which 166 people were killed, roams around freely in Pakistan despite being a designated terrorist and has made many anti-India remarks and speeches.

The United States has already put $10 million bounty on the head of Saeed.

The United Nations declared Jamaat-ud-Dawa (JuD) a terrorist organization and also individually designated Saeed as a terrorist in December 2008.

Pakistan has said that there is no case against Saeed and that he is free to move in the country as a Pakistani national.
