Bahadur Ali, the Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorist arrested by Indian security forces in Kashmir, was radicalized and motivated to undertake jihad against India after he watched videos of Kashmiri separatist Asiya Andrabi, sources in the National Investigation Agency have claimed.

Asiya Andrabi heads the all-female group Dukhtaran-e-Millat and is known for her radical views on Islam and her anti-India propaganda.

Jammu and Kashmir Police has arrested Asiya Andrabi on several occasions in the past for inciting violence and waging war against India.

According to a report in The Economic Times, Bahadur Ali was working with Hafiz Saeed-led Jamaat-ud-Dawa since 2008, when he was just 14-year-old.

Quoting its sources in NIA, an HT report discloses that Ali also used to listen to taqreers (lectures) of Maulvi Yusuf Asroori of JuD and Maulvi Khalid based in Pakistan, who undertake propaganda against India.

After crossing over to India, Bahadur Ali "started crying" while he was hiding in jungles in the Kashmir valley and "wanted to go back home". However, LeT command centre in PoK - Alpha 3, headed by Saeed's son-in-law Khalid Waleed, scolded him and asked Ali not to flee.

Ali was finally arrested on July 25 by security forces.

National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Wednesday reiterated its claim that 21-year-old Bahadur Ali had been trained by the outlawed Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and ‘military experts’ to infiltrate Kashmir and create tensions.

“Bahadur Ali lays bare the Lashkar conspiracy to throw grenades amidst protesters in Kashmir,” NIA Director General Sharad Kumar said.
