Kangana Ranaut's Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi trailer is out now. After many character posters of the film, the audience gets to watch the trailer and it looks quite grand. Kangana looks resplendent as the legendary Maratha queen who took on the British East India Company’s army in an armed rebellion against the European power, also called India’s first war of independence.

Taking to Twitter, the official Twitter handle of Zee Sudios shared Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi trailer

Sharing the trailer, trade analyst Taran Adarsh wrote, "#ManikarnikaTrailer makes a strong impact... #Manikarnika - The Queen Of Jhansi stars Kangana Ranaut in the lead... Directed by Radha Krishna Jagarlamudi and Kangana Ranaut... 25 Jan 2019 release".

Kangana Ranaut as Rani Laxmibai

Kangana Ranaut looks stunning in a velvet saree with a golden brocade border. The actress shows us the maternal side of her character as she sits with son, Damodar Rao in her lap.

Atul Kulkarni as Tatya Tope

Tatya Tope was like a brother to Rani Laxmibai. They both grew up together honing their skills of sword fighting. Kulkarni looks fierce as Tatya Tope. His face is calm yet determined.

Ankita Lokhande as Jhalkari Bai

Jhalkari was a female soldier in Rani Laxmibai's army. She is one of the unsung heroes in the war of freedom and in this film, Ankita will be bringing her alive on screen.

Danny Denzongpa as Ghulam Ghaus Khan

Dressed in a dark pathani kurta salwar with a turban and a leather vest, Danny can be seen mounted on a horse amid chaos in the city.

“I am proud of this film, and of portraying a character who empowers and inspires. We have put in our heart, blood and sweat into making this film. Manikarnika will make every Indian proud,” Kangana had earlier said in a statement about the film.

It may be recalled that twice last year, Kangana was in the news, first when she injured herself during filming in Hyderabad and in Rajasthan, and later, the film was mired in controversy after its director Krish left the project midway and Kangana took over the reins. It was speculated that the she had hijacked the film, a claim rubbished by the film’s producer, which incidentally was also the reason why actor Sonu Sood quit the film.

Directed by Krish, the film stars Kangana Ranaut, Jishu Sengupta, Suresh Oberoi, Danny Denzongappa, Atul Kulkarni, Ankita Lokhande and Zeeshan Ayub among others. The film is written by the writers of Baahubali and Bhaag Milkha Bhaag.
