This story is about a 21-year-old woman, Gudda Devi who was pregnant at the time of the incident and had been married to Jhinkan for four years. She was constantly harassed for more dowry and was burnt to death by her husband and mother-in-law. How can one kill a woman for not being able to pay and that also when she is pregnant?

Lucknow, Dec 28, 2012 This woman Jhanvi aged 26-year was killed by her husband Kamal Kishore. He shot her at 3am in the morning from a close range killing her on the spot.
Jahnvi's father who is a farmer had sold a portion of his land, to pay Kamal Rs. 2 lakhs that he had demanded as dowry, six months before the incident as Kamal was not satisfied with the money that was given to him earlier.
According to Jahnvi's father, “his daughter was being tortured and that's why he sold his land to give her husband the money. Even though, after receiving the money, Kamal demanded for more dowry. This time a car was in his wish list. When this mad man didn't get the car, he shot Jahnvi dead!

“My sister was unwell for last several months due to hunger and her deteriorating health led to death. They were torturing her for dowry,” her brother told police in his complaint.
Jaisalmer, Rajasthan, August 10, 2012: This girl aged just 21, who had been tortured for dowry for more than three years by her husband and mother-in-law, was even physically assaulted. As if it wasn't enough for her husband and mother-in-law so they doused her with kerosene and set her ablaze. She died because of the injuries she got at a hospital. As per Divya's parents, she was murdered by her husband K. Praveen Kumar as he was not satisfied with the dowry they gave to him. Praveen too confessed that he had suffocated Divya to death with pillows. He too confessed that for the crime he had used an axe saw and a cutter so that he could drain the blood and cut the body in parts.
