The weather department said its latest model analysis had indicated that the moist easterly winds in the lower level from the Bay of Bengal would spread to northwest India, covering Punjab and Haryana by July 10, leading to the advancement of monsoon and an increase in rainfall activity over the region, including Delhi, from July 10 onwards.

The weather department said that the state will witness widespread rainfall and issued a red alert in coastal Karnataka, orange alert in four districts, and yellow alert in 12 districts for July 10 and 11.
The IMD said lower-level easterly winds from the Bay of Bengal have extended northwestwards, reaching up to Delhi, Haryana and east Rajasthan as on Saturday.
Vehicular movement was adversely affected with waterlogging in parts of Kathmandu on July 09. People were seen facing problems in commuting following heavy rainfall.
Most places in the state will receive rainfall Saturday when Monsoon is likely to advance and become active in some parts of Kota, Jaipur Udaipur, Bharatpur, Ajmer divisions.
